The situation.

Two founders operate nine companies across healthcare, water infrastructure, automated retail, parking technology, environmental technology, and diagnostics. Each company is small enough that none of them could justify its own IT hire, and together they are a full-time technology department that did not exist. Domains were registered in different places by different people. Email lived wherever the last contractor had put it. When one company launched a store, the payment setup started from zero.

The constraint.

Nine companies means nine of everything: nine domains at minimum (the real number is past thirty), nine email tenants or one badly shared one, nine sets of DNS, nine websites at different stages, and founders who are in operations meetings all day and cannot be the person who knows where the registrar login is.

What we found.

The presenting request was a website. Inside the operation we found registrations expiring under old contractor accounts, email on a mix of providers with no admin continuity, DNS records pointing at services nobody used anymore, and two of the regulated companies about to launch commerce on processors that would not have kept them.

What we built.

We consolidated every domain under one registrar account the founders own, moved DNS for all of them to Cloudflare, and set up a single Google Workspace organization with an organizational unit per company so people can move between companies without losing anything. Each company's site runs on Cloudflare with a shared build pipeline, so a new company gets a live placeholder the day the domain is bought and a real site when the content is ready. For the regulated companies we built the WooCommerce and Shopify stores and handled the high-risk processor applications ourselves. Everything is documented in one place the founders can read.

What changed.

A new portfolio company now goes from "we bought the domain" to email, DNS, a placeholder site, and a plan for commerce in a working day, without either founder touching a settings page. Across the group there is one place to look for anything technical, and one team accountable for it.
